ATA Freight, a leading global
logistics and freight forwarding services provider, announced today that its
Chief Operating Officer Matt Goker has been named by Supply & Demand Chain
Executive magazine as a 2021 Pros to Know award winner.
In its official announcement, Supply
& Demand Chain Executive stated that, “This award recognizes
outstanding executives whose accomplishments offer a roadmap for other leaders
looking to leverage supply chain for competitive advantage. This year’s list
includes individuals and teams from software and service providers,
consultancies and academia, trucking and transportation firms, professional
development agencies, sourcing, and procurement divisions, and more, all who
have helped supply chain clients and the supply chain community at large
prepare to meet many of today’s – and tomorrow’s – challenges.”
Supply & Demand Chain
Executive Editor-in-Chief Marina Mayer was quoted as saying, “These
winners collaborated, optimized, developed, educated and played a critical role
in the survival and success of their companies amid a global pandemic. I am
honored to recognize these individuals and teams and extend my utmost gratitude
to everyone in the supply chain industry for their time, efforts, and
innovations to keep our nation’s supply chains afloat.”
For his part, Goker has been a
catalyst both in driving solutions for ATA Freight’s customers, as well as the
industry. Notably, as its CEO, he was instrumental in the launch of a new agile
technology spin-off, Quloi, focused on providing quantified logistics solutions
that leverage Artificial Intelligence machine learning and deep logistics
expertise to transform and optimize the global supply chain. Goker also has
been leading a team of experts who create innovative shipping solutions for
essential industries and who made sure the world continued to have access to
critical necessities during the COVID-19 pandemic. These solutions allowed some
of the world’s largest enterprises to continue to feed the world. In addition,
he created and launched a special form of alliance across logistics service
providers that is based on end-to-end systems and operational integration to
provide a seamless experience to its customers on broader geographies. The
alliance was designed to provide access for small and mid-size business on the
supply chain enabling them to effectively compete with companies of much larger
size and resources.
“It is a great honor to be
named to Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s Pros to Know
list, especially during a period when the resilience of the global supply chain
has been a matter of great concern and impact,” said Goker. “Everything we are
doing at ATA Freight and through all of our parallel industry initiatives are
focused on strengthening the supply chain and helping all businesses operating
on the chain to become stronger, more efficient, and more profitable. We are
making great strides in that area, but still have a long way to go as the
pandemic demonstrated.”
Goker was also recognized for
his emphasis on sustainability. ATA Freight has long supported organizations
that strive to reduce carbon emissions. Among the nonprofits that ATA Freight
supports is Trees for the Future, whose mission is to end hunger and poverty by
training farmers to regenerate their land. ATA Freight has been supporting
TREES since 2011 and as a result of its support, over 167,000 trees have been
planted which will result in the sequestering of 9,662 metric tons of carbon
over a 20-year period. The company is also actively involved in EcoVadis the
world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability
performance and innovation, which earned ATA Freight the 2020 EcoVadis Bronze
Medal Sustainability Leadership Award.
